2012 Refuge Sozo Ministry
We are in the early stages of building our Sozo team at the Refuge and we will be booking sessions in the near future. Refuge will be doing sessions, as well as training and equipping more teams in the future. We will be training for the Refuge team as well as equipping other churches and ministries for Sozo.
We look forward to setting captives and prisoners free through the Sozo Ministry at the Refuge in order to further advance the Kingdom of God.
Sozo Ministry/Inner Healing & Deliverance sessions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and are subject to availability and an application process. For more information about this ministry, please contact us. Thank you.
Sozo Ministry / Inner Healing & Deliverance Ministry During Jesus' time here on earth he spent much of his time healing and setting captives free. Jesus cares for the whole man, body, soul and spirit. A big part of the Refuge vision is to be a transformation center in our city, region and world.
One of the ways we believe transformation takes place in a person is through healing the body of sickness and disease. We believe the blood of Christ provided for the transformation and healing of the soul as well, which is the mind, will and emotions. We believe that we as believers in Christ have been given authority over all things including demonic spirits that attempt to kill, steal and destroy the human spirit which was created for connection to the Godhead.
We have found that there are many ways that God chooses to heal and he operates through people. We are to love and honor people at all times in the way we minister the love and grace of God to people. This philosophy of ministry is a core value for us at the Refuge.
Another value we have is the spiritual gifts given to the ministers we release to do ministry at the Refuge. They are highly trained and we believe in them and Jesus inside of them. We value the diversity of our ministers and spend much of our time equipping and speaking into them as individuals. We use a variety of tools to set the captives and prisoners free. However, we are not about formulas or methods but about being led by the Holy Spirit and modeling the life of Christ in the way we bring freedom and healing to a person.
What model for inner healing and deliverance do we use and why?
First and foremost we use scripture and the life of Christ for our model. We always rely on Holy Spirit to guide and direct. Our authority comes from Christ and there is a Heavenly Father who loves people and honors their free will.
Having said that, the Lord gives revelation to people and operates through people. He gives wisdom, insight and leadership to those He has called by His name. We at the Refuge recognize leaders, their call and their gifts. We honor what they have built. Having seen many models, good and bad, we believe the Sozo model best represents us as a ministry.
We chose the Sozo model founded by leaders at Bethel Church in Redding California for it's focus and simplicity. Bringing the wholeness Christ provided for (body, soul & spirit) and connecting people to a deeper relationship with God is the whole point of inner healing and deliverance ministry. Those two aspects are the whole focus of the Sozo model. Sozo tools are easy to train others in as well, which is a great deal of what we do as an equipping center.
Sozo is a gentle, loving and honoring model for this type of ministry. Over time we have developed our own tools and methods, which we have incorporated into model we use at the Refuge. Like with anything else, the model we use is influenced by our own Refuge DNA, culture, philosophy of ministry and core values.
What is Sozo Ministry?
Sozo ministry is a gentle and honoring model for inner healing and deliverance ministry that attempts to get to the root of issues and bring light, truth & revelation to bring freedom to an individual. Jesus said, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). The Greek word for 'know' means to have an intimate and personal encounter with the truth as well as with the source of that truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). He also said, "Your (Father's) word is truth" (John 17:17).
Sozo ministry has two primary goals: - Help people receive wholeness, become saved, healed and delivered from bondage that prevents them from being all that God has intended for them from the foundations of creation.
- Strengthen the individual’s relationship and intimacy with the Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) so that they may continue their walk with God and fulfill their purpose and destiny.
