We Believe in Freewill Offerings Demonstrated in Both the Old and the New Testament
There are promises attached to giving, don't forget to check those out! They belong to you!

Old Testament Example

Exodus 35:21-29 (Amplified Bible)

21And they came, each one whose heart stirred him up and whose spirit made him willing, and brought the Lord's offering to be used for the [new] Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and the holy garments.
22They came, both men and women, all who were willing-hearted, and brought brooches, earrings or nose rings, signet rings, and armlets or necklaces, all jewels of gold, everyone bringing an offering of gold to the Lord.
23And everyone with whom was found blue or purple or scarlet [stuff], or fine linen, or goats' hair, or rams' skins made red [in tanning], or dolphin or porpoise skins brought them.
24Everyone who could make an offering of silver or bronze brought it as the Lord's offering, and every man with whom was found any acacia wood for any work of the service brought it.
25All the women who had ability and were wise-hearted spun with their hands and brought what they had spun of blue and purple and scarlet [stuff] and fine linen;
26And all the women who had ability and whose hearts stirred them up in wisdom spun the goats' hair.
27The leaders brought onyx stones and stones to be set for the ephod and for the breastplate,
28And spice, and oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense.
29The Israelites brought a freewill offering to the Lord, all men and women whose hearts made them willing and moved them to bring anything for any of the work which the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done.

New Testament Example

2 Corinthians 9:1-15 (Amplified Bible)

  1NOW ABOUT the offering that is [to be made] for the saints (God's people in Jerusalem), it is quite superfluous that I should write you;

    2For I am well acquainted with your willingness (your readiness and your eagerness to promote it) and I have proudly told about you to the people of Macedonia, saying that Achaia (most of Greece) has been prepared since last year for this contribution; and [consequently] your enthusiasm has stimulated the majority of them.

    3Still, I am sending the brethren [on to you], lest our pride in you should be made an empty boast in this particular case, and so that you may be all ready, as I told them you would be;

    4Lest, if [any] Macedonians should come with me and find you unprepared [for this generosity], we, to say nothing of yourselves, be humiliated for our being so confident.

    5That is why I thought it necessary to urge these brethren to go to you before I do and make arrangements in advance for this bountiful, promised gift of yours, so that it may be ready, not as an extortion [wrung out of you] but as a generous and willing gift.

    6[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.

  7Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].

    8And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

    9As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever!

    10And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity].

    11Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God.

    12For the service that the ministering of this fund renders does not only fully supply what is lacking to the saints (God's people), but it also overflows in many [cries of] thanksgiving to God.

    13Because at [your] standing of the test of this ministry, they will glorify God for your loyalty and obedience to the Gospel of Christ which you confess, as well as for your generous-hearted liberality to them and to all [the other needy ones].

    14And they yearn for you while they pray for you, because of the surpassing measure of God's grace (His favor and mercy and spiritual blessing which is shown forth) in you.

    15Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]!

About Contributions
There are many ways you can contribute to Refuge. All are valuable and have their place in the house of prayer, and we are thankful for each and every contribution.

Prayerfully
Refuge values and covets your prayers on a daily basis. Prayer is the most valuable asset we have, so thank you for your prayers.

Financially
Refuge like everyone else has financial obligations. We greatly appreciate any financial contributions no matter what size. We are continually working towards building a strong and stable financial base. We believe, in order to be a blessing to our city, community and culture, we are to be givers ourselves. It takes finances to do the things that God has put on our hearts to do and accomplish the vision he has placed before us. Thank you in advance for your generosity and your participation in kingdom building.

Partnerships
One of the ways we make our commitments both spiritually and financially in our city is to build partnerships with people. We need monthly financial pledges as well as one time or seasonal contributions. Giving to the house of prayer is tax deductible as we are a California Non-Profit Corporation 501(c)3 and year end giving letters for tax purposes are made available to donors. We also seek to build partnerships by commitments to the house of prayer through acts of service.

Time
At Refuge there are many ways you can donate your time. We need all the people power we can get! Please let us know how you can contribute your time by volunteering at the house. We look forward to hearing from you.

Talent
What do you love? What are you good at? We need what you have to give! You have gifts and talents that are so valuable to the house and we would love to see you using them to your greatest potential. We could all greatly benefit from your giving of your talents.

Treasure
Goods and materials are greatly needed at the prayer house on a regular basis. Practical things as well as extravagant things are always needed, welcomed and greatly appreciated! See our Wish List.

Wish List
We have many practical needs in the house of prayer. We need things like toilet paper, paper towels, water bottles, snacks, new and used books, copier paper, toner for the copy machine, art for the walls, furniture, anointing oil, art supplies. and instruments. We need new computers. The computers we currently have are no longer meeting our growing needs and we are looking to upgrade to Mac, if you can help please contact us. Things of that nature are always needed and valued, not having to buy those things allows us to spend our finances on things like building expansion, a bookstore and bringing in speakers and leaders from other locations.
